That ten days felt so short but memorable, wished it was longer. Being in a totally different place on the other side of the world is really interesting. I felt like i was really on the holiday, when you get that feeling of being disconnected from everything else. just me and the sand... haha.
The whole place has one colour on its colour palette, BROWN. Brown country i tell you, wherever you go, whatever you see, it's brown.
I don't think singapore's landed properties can even manage to fill up 1/6 of the houses there. they're HUGE! Like upsized lifesize sandcastles, of cos being brown as well but architectures of the houses...perfect. The cars were nice, luxurious, but yeah they also had run-down cars but mostly huge cars, (and i saw a Hummer!) were out and about during the weekend.
Shopping was alright, architecture of Villagio was beautiful but didn't manage to find much stuff to buy. Caught a movie there, the show wasn't that great. In doha, there is no such thing as queuing up, just to buy a ticket you have to filter your way through the bunch of slow moving people just to purchase tickets but it's normal for them, it's as if they have all the time in the world(i think they really do)...
Souk was great, the layout in Doha was a little different than the one in Sex and the City 2, but the concept pretty much the same, you can go there a thousand times and still get lost, lanes all looking identical, one wrong turn and you're gone. but it was fun, we had a nice dinner, picked out fabric for mama & got some souvenirs. Loved the animals/pets sections. they have the biggest/fattest pigeons i've ever seen, ugly too, had feathers on their feet not sure why but i thought it was gross. The kittens and puppies were soooo adorable and small, playing together! There were chicks and rabbits dyed in atrocious neon colors, poor creatures.
We went to the desert and riding the sand dunes was awesome, super exciting, like a roller coaster ride without tracks! The sand was so soft wished i could have brought some back, i think i might still have some stuck in my shoe. Went to The Pearl on saturday, beautiful place, architecture was really nice, water there was blue/green-so clean. Yachts docked at bay, for people to travel from the pearl to a certain destination, yes you have to be damn rich to be living in that area, saw a huge house by the sea. All the designer brands were there, McQueen, Galliano, McCartney and moreeeee. Lunch at the Chocolate bar was great, the chocolate fondue...heavenly.
yeah, pretty much the highlights for my trip, not many places to visit there honestly. it's a quiet country, people usually go there for transit flights to another destination no one really stops there, but it was nice, calm and slow paced, perfect for relaxing. Despite the difference in culture and weather(damn hot, thank god for the rainy season now) but it was one of my best trips yet.
